Catherine Bloom - Gundam Wing
Why this costume:
If there was one anime that got me into anime...it was Gundam Wing. It has been one of my top anime loves for years. Catherine was always one of my favorite female but I never had the courage to make her since I don't have the same small frame that she does. I finally said "Who cares!" and decided to make her.
Details Construction:
The top is made of two pieces. The over shirt which was burgundy stretch knit and the under shirt which was pink Kona cotton. I used interfacing to design the collar and covered it in the same burgundy knit (It was actually left over material from my Kallen costume). The pink undershirt has a zipper in the back to ensure a close/tight fit.
The skirt was made from purple Casa Satin lined with itself for extra body. I used a light yellow bias to enclose the top and placed a zipper in the inside of one of the pleats.
Finished with some personal flair by adding extra full feathers to my hair piece, and some pink tights that pretty well finished Catherine.
Many thanks to Morataya for the photos!
