Aerith - Final Fantasy VII
Why this costume:
Honestly? I love Aerith. She was one of the first costumes I ever made. A friend of mine, Moderately Okay Cosplay, had actually originally met and connected when I was in my Female Cloud costume. We talked FF7 and he invited me to join his group at Megacon. This was a dream to finally be part of a completely FF7 group!
Details Construction:
Dress:
Made of Kona Cotton, I wanted something with a light enough pink that wasn't overpowering to the jacket. The dress itself is very basic. Open front button down. Just time spent making button holes, but otherwise very easy and basic. I did princess seams in the front to help with fitting.
Jacket:
My biggest regret is not adding SHOULDER PADS! *regret* For my next time I will. The pockets are fake so it didn't add too much "bulky" extra fabric as I really wanted this to lay flush. The buttons were hand sewn on.
Armor:
Eva foam! All the foamie! With a lot of layers of paint and distress. I used a heat gun to form all the pieces. A terrible explanation but the time was mostly spent in painting. I also used googly eyes as my rivets! So much fun.
Staff:
PVC pipes and connectors. Not exactly what I wanted but it did the job. I originally made this costumes years ago and when I did I used the same method and I knew though I wanted to step up the game I wanted to make it from the same materials.
The hair bow I made with leftover fabric and the boots I had from the first time I made this costume.
