Yoko - Gurren Lagann

I have always adored Gurren Lagann. Then there is Yoko, a young girl with amazing strength and personality!
The furthest thing from perfect but a costume I have had finished for a couple of years...on that was so intimidating to wear it took me just over a year to actually wear it.
At this point in time it was my first time sewing and working with Vinyl. I made the costume and styled the wig. I realize I never did a complete write up of the process and because it took me so long to actually wear the costume a lot of the craftsmanship details are lost since it's not super fresh. I will, however, detail best I can recall!
My cape was probably my favorite part, however. I drafted this pattern myself. Lining with canvas or duck cloth to give it more weight and structure. The red design details I glued and hand sewed in place depending on it's location. I used this same process on the legs, this time without the lining. The black bikini was actually a separate piece that I made and wore over the pants. The pants extended to my ankles, where I placed them above my white boots.
It took all my courage.
