Tess & Clicker - The Last of US

Why this costume:
Having just finished The Last of Us I was most drawn to the character Tess. I didn't feel that I really felt the role of Tess since I don't really have the same structure, face, or resemblance but my friend MsValentine suggested I do it. My original idea was to do a Clicker, but I made that costume for Adrian instead.
Details:
I started making this costume and the Clicker for Adrian the night before the shoot with MsValentine since it was a last minute choice to include myself.
Tess:
I started with a formal dress shirt I bought at goodwill for a few bucks. I cut the sleeves off and used the material from the sleeves to make front pockets on both sides. I then burn, cut, smeared, and rubbed anything and everything I could to give it the look I wanted. In reality that was mainly Vaseline, make-up, Glycerin, and a few other things like fake blood. Did the same to an old pair of jeans and added a backpack. The only part I made from scratch was the headband. I took a screenshot from the game and hand drew the shapes of her headband with sharpy after making a very simple headband. Finished. Over-night easy costume.

Okay, so technically a commission but I'm not going to put it there because I actually wanted to make this costume for myself and threw it on someone else. The costume was made in about 8 hours. So, though far from perfect I feel like it got the idea off and what looked nice with our group.
The piece really anyone will probably wonder about was the top headpiece or fungus. I made it out of GE Large Gaps Foam. In case you aren't familiar it is the expanding foam you can get at most any general store. I sprayed it down in the basic shape I wanted and let only the top layer dry. I then scraped away the extra and let it dry completely. I then cut out the designs and details I wanted. Finally was the painting. I painted in several layers to add the details of decay and also of new growth. I didn't base my design off any one infected. They all had their own designs. I just took from all of them and did what worked best in my time frame and with my supplies.
The rest was decay added to the costume through the same methods as Tess.
