Shura Kirigakure - Ai no Exorcist
Why this costume:
I love Spiders and I love this character aesthetic! What more could I desire?! Well, and Blue Exorcist, let us not forget the source material.
Details:
I knew immediately when I saw the outfit that I wanted to do it. I took a few creative liberties with the costume...but it's just so it looked more uniform and what I thought would be a little more flattering!
I didn't make the jean shorts, I just modified them to make them accurate to the image as best I could. I took an existing pair of jean shorts and hand sewed the fur/fluff around the legs.
When it comes to manga, sometime you only get one look at the costume and it's not always colored. In this case, I only had it in black and white so I had to do some guessing on the colors. So, to make it pop I made the spider webs themselves white on a black background. The top was made and the spiderwebs hand painted on.
The scarf was purchased online and I painted the white spider on both ends to match the design.
