Nurse - Silent Hill
Why this costume:
With being a big fan of Horror doing a Silent Hill costume has always been on my list. I think one of the most iconic characters (female anyway) from the series is the Nurse. I had been talking about doing a character from this and with the encouragement of a friend I ended up working on her!
Details Construction:
Mask:
The the mask was made with plaster. I placed it on my face directly and went to town. I've seen other mask making tutorials that recommend Plaster Cloth Gauze to make their masks, so I went with that. I then did some cleaning up. I took my inspiration for my design from both the games and the movies. I wanted it to look organic but I also need to be able to see through it since once this mask is on...well it's on since I use bandages to secure it alone with pins to my hair.
Next was painting. It was just patience. I went for a tan effect with lots of dark beige tones and browns. I then went in with reds and blacks for shadow. Honestly, I just tried to provide depth, I didn't base it off a specific Nurse.
Dress:
Honestly, this is pretty straight forward. Though, I am doing this write up some time after I completed it. So, I can't quite recall all the details. I remember using an airbrush for some of the base colors after tea bathing the write base dress. I also went in with individual dye mixtures and sprayed on blood and dirt effects too. I've covered these method in my other horror costume right ups, so I recommend checking them out if you want more info!
Remaining portion:
Shoes were some tan heels I added blood to. The Knife was from a Myers costume I had put together. The paint on my legs/arms/etc was done using blue and green eye pencils. :)
