Matsumoto rangiku - Bleach
Why this costume:
Matsumoto Rangiku one of my favorite characters! I have a thing for strong ladies who can hold their liquor! I made this costume to present at Jacon '06. Unfortunately, I didn't do any sort of right up at the time....so this is vague as I remember very little of the specific issues I ran into. So, it will be what I can remember. Details:
I made the Hakama by reading an online tutorial, that has since had the website deleted. I kept them as close to accurate as I could.
I modified the opening on the top to be larger to show cleavage since Matsumoto has a lot of it. The pink sash was a pink Kona cotton. I love the contrast!
I bought some really cheap shoes at Target, cut them up, and glued burlap to them for the look of the sandals they wore. I later replaced them with more accurate shoes.
The necklace was made from dog chain accessories at Home Depot.
The bow in the front was plastic that I covered, so that the bow would keep it's shape.
