Karin - Kamichama Karin
Why this costume:
Ahh, pink! So much pink! I don't think I've ever bought or used this much pink in my life! Still, the costume was so cute I couldn't pass on making it. I like Kamichama Karin and Koge-Donbo is still one of my favorite manga artists!
Details:
The shoes/wig/crown/accessories were my favorite parts to work on. The dress wasn't that bad either...but I had to hand gather so much on this outfit that it became a pain by the time I had finished...so I can't say it was my favorite part to make.
The Shoes were hand dyed in my sink!
The Crown was made by my grandfather.
The gloves I modified from Power Ranger gloves that I got on clearance at my local Halloween store. Completely win!
The most difficult part was by far the huge bow in the back. Not due to construction, but due to the creativity I had to use to try and make it stand up. I placed boning in it as well as very stiff interfacing and neither alone could do it. Eventually I attached the bow to the sleeves and that supplied the last bit of necessary support.
The skirt is four layers. Two of white, one of pink and one of lighter pink. It was so comfortable it felt like I didn't have one on at all.
