Arcade Miss Fortune - League of Legends

Why this costume:
If you hadn't noticed...I adore League of Legends. It's brought a lot of new people into my life as well as new experiences. Miss Fortune has always had some of my favorite designs, and this one was a sure thing the moment I saw her.
Details Construction:
Miss Fortune's artwork for this particular costume left a lot of areas that could hardly be seen (the skirt for instance) so I went to the in game model for a lot of my reference work but never forgot the source seen above. I made this costume in about 4 days total.
I started on the skirt.
While working on another project I realized I had all of the remaining materials perfect for her skirt. So, using the 3D model viewer I rotated and counted squares on her skirt. There are two different shades of purple, dark purple and lavender. I measured myself and figured out exactly how many squares I would need and after some slight adjusting decided how large to cut each one. I individually cut and measured out 60 squares, though I only used about 50. Then, sewed them in three strips. Finally, I sewed those strips together and hand pleated on the bottom and added on the waist band. I made belt loops and hand painted the buttons to the right shade of purple and also hand sewed those on. The back closes with a zipper.
The belt was made from Eva Foam. I cut the same design into the foam and stenciled the design so it would POP!
Finally the star was a wood star painted gold and attached to the belt.
The Gameboy is real and still works. Inside is my copy of Pokemon yellow, with the same team I beat the game with years ago.
The top was next.
The top including the separate jacket. Was ALL recycled materials from previous projects. The pink portions were Kona cotton left from my Kamichama Karin cosplay. I had two different shades a "hot pink" and a slightly lighter pink I used for the details like the stars. The top was a pattern I drafted simply by fitting the material to my body until I got the desired fit. It closes in the back with a zipper. The white portion on the top was left over dance wear knit I used for the body suit of my Sailor Fuku on Sailor Jupiter. Again, I just placed this material until I got the desired effect. For the stars on the jacket I traced out a star in the lighter pink color and attached them to the top using Heat and Bond. I then used MsValentine's technique and applied spray on glitter to the pink portions of the top. That added both a shine, slight color, as well as glitter. The brand and color I used was: Krylon Glitter Blast, in Posh Pink. The orange piece in the center was hand cut out and then layered and satin stitched to give it the same look as her's in the art.
The Jacket was material I used remaining from my Nami costume. The collar piece was the same knit used from my Sailor Jupiter stuffed with Polyfil. Again, I drafted the pattern myself and simply added the same designs as hers.
The Boots.
I was lucky enough to find the perfect boots online as a base. I then painted and detailed them with both paint and the same pink fabric to give them the desired look.
The Arm-warmers.
The arm-warmers were originally white ribbed knit purchased at Joann's and one of the few fabric materials purchased for this costume. I then dyed it in my bathtub to get the same light pink color as hers. It actually came out very even for a first dye bath and I didn't need to fix it at all. I sewed them up, finished them, and then there you go. Simple enough!
The Hat
Surprisingly, the most difficult part. I used a mixture of cotton, knit, Eva Foam, honestly, everything in my arsenal. It took three different mock ups until I got the correct size and pattern but I love this hat. The back of the hat is stiped with both colors of pink (hot and light) same as the stars on the top and the top. The two shades of orange are from left over jacket pieces as well as some hand made bias I made from a scrap from my next project. Over-all it was frustrating because it took far more time than any other in this project. The earmuff's are stand in and my least happy part about this costume, but at this point I was just about out of time.
Update -Earmuffs-
I finally got around to updating my earmuffs in time for Pax South. This time around I took a plastic product called: ThermoMorph. I modeled both the base and the star and then attached them to a hairband. I then hand painted and detailed them to match Miss Fortune's. A much more accurate and solid look now.
The Wig.
The wig is a combination of base wig, cut and styled with wefts sewn in at various lengths. The base wig is an Epic Cosplay Athena in Raspberry pink. I also purchased wefts from Epic Cosplay in Ice Blue. I hand sewed them in and cut the base wig in layers to ensure the blue looked as though it was tips and naturally part of the wig. One of the funnest parts of this costume.
The Guns
They were made by this amazing man here: Cobheran Cosplay. They were part of his 24 hour Prop challenge and they came out fantastic! You can visit his page to see how he did it! Though, it is fantastic! He even put in LED's to make them light up! How cool!!! Yes! <3 Check him out. I can't believe he met my ridiculous time restraint for this prop! They were then painted and finished by Adrian! <3
