Scarlet - Final Fantasy VII Remake
Why this costume:
When I saw the update to Scarlet from the FF7 Remake, I was in love! She was giving me the same vibes as Excella from Resident Evil which made me want to cosplay her! I knew I also had friends cosplaying Aerith and Tifa and wanted to join them, but this time as a villain!
Details:
I started this costume with a pre-purchased outfit. However, when it came in it needed so much work. I was extremely happy with the base garment's choice of fabric though, as I really felt it captured her design well. I had to deconstruct the collar as well as the front portion of the vest. The skirt sizing was way off too, so I had to take it in/off additional material. I'm talking about 6" off the waist.
I knew the devil was in the details on this one, so wanted to make sure I got her iconic jewelry on point. I found some pieces online that needed just a little fine tuning to make them match.
Overall I'm very happy with how I was able to take a pre-purchased base costume and elevated it to fit my body shape as well as add accessories which I think really made this costume shine!
