Pleione - Light Mascot
Why this costume:
Well, after trying out for the Metrocon mascot with many other talented girls, I was luckily to be chosen along with three other beautiful ladies; Indra, Jamie, and Britani.
The teams were light and dark. Myself and Indra were on the light side and this costume was to inspire that.
Details:
I had about a week to make the costume since the following week I was heading to Katsucon. Upon returning, I sewed and sewed.
I took the designs from random patterns I had purchased and picked up over the years. Just trying to come up with aspects that would clearly use the materials and colors to showcase them. I went with white and purple due to the royal, clean, and fresh feeling I got when I saw them together.
I wanted a lot of flow with the costume. So, I added skirt panels as well as sleeves which were opened and paneled. I was very inspired by the idea of a white mage or caster aesthetic, since I was on Team Light.
