Julia - Cowboy Bebop

Why this costume:
I was asked to join a cosplay group from Cowboy Bebop. It's an honor, IMO, to cosplay from this series as it is a work of art. Both in story and in music this anime is one which brings me a lot of joy. Julia was my choice because while making some bad moral choices at times, her story is just so tragic. Betrayal, love, loss, it's all there. Through it all though, she fights and for that I love her.
Details:
The base suit for this costume was a premade bodysuit I purchased at a local costume shop. I did modify the body suit slightly, but over-all out of the box it was pretty solid!
The main part of her outfit which is iconic to her character is that belt. I used Air dry foam clay to recreate the same design as her buckle. Once dry I sealed and painted it silver. In some of the artwork her belt almost appears more like an underwear style piece. So, I made a bikini out of stretch vinyl and attached the buckle with glue. With this piece complete it was just a matter of pairing the costume with her wig and some sunglasses!
