Female HelLboy - Hellboy
Why this costume:
Hellboy has been one of my favorite comic characters for years. Then...when the Guillermo Del Toro films were released I fell in love! Truly in love.
Details Construction:
Make-up:
Welp, I used a lot of new items for this costume! My tried and true make-up was used though for the base red: Mehron Paradise in RED and Burgundy. I also used
Graftobian Modeling Wax in Flesh Color to added further details. The horns were made with -Surprise- Gatorade caps as my base. I then molded and shaped my horns with the modeling wax lastly adding my details with my Mehron make-up in both reds and black. I had some trouble attaching them to my forehead, but with some time and spirit gum I got them to participate. The hot weather in Florida, however, didn't make it easy as the day went on.
Tail:
Made from the Yaya Han stretch 4-way Matte Jumbo Spandex. I absolutely love this material. It is fantastic! So easy to move and model. I made this by simply figuring out the length and shape I wanted. I then filled it with Polyfill and attached a ribbon to the top that I could tie around my waist and below my belt. I then finally added a 20 gauge wire through the tail so I could make it poseable.
Belt/holster:
Was actually a birthday gift. I can't credit who made it because I wasn't told but it was an appreciated gift! Made of real leather and based off the screen version.
Undershirt:
Was simply a black tank that I modified.
Pants:
Purchased at work. Nothing special here.
Jacket:
I bought this at Goodwill a LONG time ago. I removed the lining and added a little bit of dye to change up the color, but over-all it was just a good thrift store find that I modified.
RHOD:
Probably what you are most interested in reading on here....however, this costume was a Patreon sponsored costume so specific details on it's creation were specifically for Patreon so you can find those there! I will say though that it was probably the most work and time consuming piece. Every finger was individually moveable and it was carved with a lot of love!
The Good Samaritan:
Sorry, another one for Patreon.
