Lady DimitrescU - Resident Evil Village
Why this costume:
As a huge fan of Resident Evil, the moment I saw Lady Dimitrescu it was love at first sight. Having been portrayed as a powerful, tall. woman I knew it was just a must!
Details Construction:
Dress:
I purchased a cream stretch knit with amazing weight to it. I began working on this costume as soon as they showed her off and was working with only a few references. I wanted her dress to drape and flow just as hers was. With additional ability to have it tighten in just the right places! Gotta have those Lady curves
I drafted the pattern for this dress myself. With a lot of trial and error and patience with my gather stitching I was able to achieve the look I wanted. Due to using a stretch fabric I was able to take the dress in to add the proper fitting. The rest of the details were small pieces and buttons. With edges finished with cream bias. I used this same bias to create the gather in the front as well.
Hat:
Made from EVA foam I patterned my hate shape and size with news paper. Transferred this to the 5mm Eva foam by Yaya Han. I then covered the hat with some Black fabric I had as a remnant from a previous project. Incasing the foam and added the details.
Other pieces:
Her broach which symbolizes her daughters was made from some fake roses. I glued them together and added a felt backing. Then a safety pin for adhering to the dress.
Gloves and necklace were purchased. My earrings are actually the same ones made by my friend Ann, which I wore for my Excella costume!
