Ashley - Resident Evil 4
Why this costume:
So, this costume I first gathered parts to make for MsValentine (Ann) for her Resident Evil 4 stream playthrough. However, I never did finish it in time for her and I could tell she really didn't want to wear her outside of stream. So, to not let all the materials go to waste I still decided to make it, but this time for me.
Details:
The orange shirt was purchased online. I had a different one for Ann when I originally was making it, so to make it fit me I just purchased an alternative orange one. I only had to modify it slightly by taking it in to make it tighter.
The sweater was a plain one I found at a thrift store. I hand painted the details of her sweater on with white acrylic paint.
The belt was left over vinyl that I had used to make my Huntress belts. I crafted a belt buckle out of foam and attached it to the belt. Then to keep it closed/on I used a snap.
The skirt was made from the fabric I'd ordered to make Ann's skirt. I just ended up making it to my measurements. The main element of her skirt which has always been of interest to me and Ann...is that it's uneven. It's longer on one side than the other. It had to be intentional...though we will never know why. So, I was sure that mine too was uneven like Ashley's. I hated the feel of the plaid material on my skin, so I sewed in a loose lining. For the lining I just used some left over black fabric, leaving it slightly shorter to avoid being seen.
